President's Message:
I am 62 and married to a wonderful and loving woman, Verna,
who has been my greatest supporter in the mission work, I am doing.
We have 5 children and 9 grandchildren.
My interest in Kenya began in the fall of 2001 when I
began saying the Jabez Prayer each day. God
presented an opportunity for me to meet a group, International Development
Missions, which was just beginning to do mission work in Kenya.
After my first trip I knew that I had to do something to help the
children there. I began telling
everyone that asked about my trip that we here in the United States don’t know
how Blessed we are. Even with all
the problems that we face such as racism, housing, health care, income we have
no reason to complain. A homeless
person here can even get a clean drink of water more easily than most people in
Kenya. A lot of children in the
United States have the opportunity for education and no desire, while children
in Kenya have a desire, but not always the opportunity.
The words of Jesus in Mark12: 31, “The second commandment
is this: Love your neighbor as you would yourself”, is now my guidance for not
only the work I am doing in Kenya, but everyday.
